Anthony Nemeth
FDR Middle School is home to a very gifted music student, Anthony Nemeth. In addition to being an excellent saxophone player and student, Anthony is also very interested in music composition. Last year, Anthony composed a piece of music, Impovvioso, for our band. The FDR Band performed the piece at the yearly adjudication where the judges were highly impressed with Anthony's work.

This past January, the FDR Band Director submitted Anthony's piece to the young composers review board for performance at the NAfME (National Association for Music Education) All-Eastern Bi-Annual Conference. This Friday, FDR was notified that Anthony’s piece was selected for performance in the Young Composers concert at the 2019 conference in Pittsburgh, PA. Additionally, the FDR band was invited to perform Anthony’s work.

This is a huge honor for both Anthony and BTSD. His work will be performed for an audience of music professionals comprised of private and public school teachers, university professors, and music industry professionals. We should be very proud of Anthony’s accomplishment as very few students are awarded this opportunity throughout the eastern United States.
